What is logistics?
Logistics is the industry which manages how resources are acquired, stored, and transported to their final destination.

Virtually everything we buy or use has been handled by a number of people – from the producer, to the trucker, to the warehouse operative, to the transport manager, and many others in between. But the logistics journey doesn’t end there. Once we’ve finished with our goods there’s the recycling and waste management process staffed by a vast chain of logistics professionals – many of course developing smarter and more sustainable ways of bringing that material back into production as goods and energy.
There are countless roles which support the logistics process and we’ll be finding out much more about them during the campaign.
The logistics industry is worth £127bn to the UK economy, but its true value is the role it plays making sure we get everything we need – it’s fundamental to our way of life. Without logistics we get nothing.
