How did you get into the industry?
HTF is a family business and it was natural to join the company when the position became available.
How long have you worked in the sector?
Since I was 19 so 13 years.
What does the word ‘logistics’ mean to you?
Logistics is the movement of people and goods.
What makes the logistics industry such a great place to work?
Every day is a different challenge, meeting different people from different walks of life. Getting paid to see the sites around the UK and Europe with lots of job satisfaction.
What can we do to encourage young people to work in logistics?
The public’s perception of the industry needs to change. The pay is heading in the right direction. The conditions and facilities for drivers when parking overnight need to improve. Spending more time promoting the industry to school leavers is key.
