Family business and I loved going out as a boy with the drivers in their lorries.
How long have you worked in the sector?
Forty-two years.
What does the word ‘logistics’ mean to you?
It encompasses everything our sector provides.
What makes the logistics industry such a great place to work?
No two days are the same.
What can we do to encourage young people to work in logistics?
Tell them the truth about the industry and give them a job as near to when they leave school as possible.
What breadth of roles does your company offer?
Forklift truck drivers, mechanics, office staff (traffic planners, customer services, accounts staff, admin staff, compliance staff) and of course lorry drivers.
What does National Lorry Week mean to you?
It’s an opportunity to promote the benefits of working in our sector.
Why people should get involved?
If we don’t promote our sector as a place to work why would anyone join?
What does the future hold for our industry with innovation and new technology?
There is a massive future in our industry.
