Enterprise Flex-E-Rent is honoured to support the haulage industry alongside the RHA during National Lorry Week. It is important to raise awareness of the industry’s positive impact on the UK and promote the incredible career opportunities available to the next generation. Why is it important to celebrate the road transport industry?
The road haulage sector is vital to the UK and its economy. The people in the industry are responsible for moving the vast majority of the country’s consumer goods, keeping the economy strong. It is important to celebrate the industry’s role in the country and to ensure a strong pipeline of future workers who can build their careers in this sector.
Are there any misconceptions about road transport that you would like to put right?
HGV drivers have received a lot of headlines in recent years and are undoubtedly essential to the HGV sector, and the wider UK economy, but it is also important to celebrate the many and varied contributions from the wider HGV supply chain, including professionals in vehicle safety, technology and sustainability. There are many areas where people can join the industry, build a career and make valuable contributions.
What issues must we raise awareness about in road transport and why are they important?
We need to raise awareness of how the industry is adopting cutting-edge technology, like AI route planning, real-time tracking, and alternative fuels. It is one of the fastest-modernizing industries.
